Volunteer for Feeding Tampa Bay Shift on Sept. 6

Posted on Aug. 15, 2024  /  0

Help PRSA Tampa Bay give back to our community on Friday, Sept. 6, by volunteering for our shift at the new Feeding Tampa Bay warehouse!

In May, Feeding Tampa Bay marked a new chapter in its mission by opening a $60 million, 215,000 square-foot community hub to allow it to better address the demand for food assistance throughout the 10-county region it serves. The new facility is almost three times larger than the nonprofit’s original building and includes an 11,000 square-foot kitchen that can push out 10,000 daily meals along with a grocery store, café, and classrooms for job training and financial literacy lessons.

Help our chapter commemorate the launch of the warehouse when we complete a volunteer shift on Sept. 6. Our Public Service Committee is looking for 12 volunteers to help inspect perishable and nonperishable foods for their expiration date and quality, and then package these foods into boxes that will be distributed to our neighbors.

To register or find out more, please email Joseph Priest, chair, Public Service Committee.
