- First news publication you read in the morning?
I scroll through my curated Apple news app for breaking national and global stories, and then check local news on Facebook’s news feed.
- First public relations job?
My first public relations job was with the LifeLink Foundation, where I oversaw the volunteer program and worked to develop and grow the organization’s first social media channels. This job allowed me to work directly with people whose lives had been positively impacted by organ, eye, and tissue donation, and 14 years later, I’m still dedicated to sharing this lifesaving mission and the importance of registering to become a donor.

I represented the LifeLink Foundation at the annual Eye Ball in 2022 to raise funds for the Lions Eye Institute.
- Most important career mentor, and why?
My current mentor, Geri Evans, APR, Fellow PRSA, has been my longest mentor. Geri has helped me navigate challenges in my career, and I appreciate both her sage advice that comes from a wealth of knowledge and experience in this field, and the time and encouragement she gives me as I continue to grow.
- Most rewarding accomplishment in public relations?
Working for LifeLink, I have had so many wonderful moments of a job well done, but I am always in awe and appreciation when working with a donor family that has lost a loved one. Their strength and ability to share their stories and carry on their loved one’s legacy inspires me, and being able to help these families tell their stories will always be a highlight of my career.

I enjoy getting out on the water kayaking to explore inlets, rivers and springs throughout Florida! Pearl, my pug, joined me on one kayak adventure!
- Advice to new public relations professionals?
Join PRSA and network! I was shy and didn’t understand the value of networking when I first graduated, but now I see that it is so important to get involved with your industry and soak up the knowledge and expertise of those around you.
- Job you would pursue if you weren’t in public relations?
Since I love being in the outdoors, traveling and learning, I think I would enjoy travel vlogging or teaching about a subject I’m passionate about.

Dutch and Pearl are my two lovable pugs that bring immense joy and laughter into my life.
- Favorite movie?
Is it surprising that the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise continues to be a favorite of mine? My first trip to Tampa involved Gasparilla, and don’t you have to love pirates to live here? 🙂
- Favorite vacation?
My favorite vacation was a family trip to Australia when I was a child. I enjoyed seeing all of the unique animals and snorkeling the Great Barrier Reef, and I was able to hold a koala bear, pet a wombat, and feed a kangaroo!

Picture of little me from my trip to Australia when I got to snorkel at the Great Barrier Reef!

Adult me snorkeling at the Sombrero Reef off of Marathon, Florida, last year.
- Song that makes you dance?
Any genre of music with a good beat or hook will get me on the dance floor, but if I had to pick one, it would be “Yeah!” by Usher.
- Any three dinner guests?
I would love to have a home-cooked Southern meal with my grandparents, who have recently passed away, as they had a passion for cooking and grew and harvested their own crops in their backyard.
I would also invite my boyfriend’s father, who left us too soon.

Horseback riding has always been a passion of mine since I was little. I try to trail-ride whenever I get the chance! This is from Alafia State Park.
